Nearly half of the Augusta Prep Class of 2026 receives national academic recognition
Sixteen Augusta Prep seniors - nearly half of the senior class - was recognized for their academic excellence on a national level this afternoon.
The seniors were recognized by The College Board with the School Recognition Award. These students earned this award through academic excellence defined as a combination of a nationally competitive PSAT score, successful performance on the national Advanced Placement exams taken through 10th grade, and a cumulative GPA of a B+ or higher.
These students are: Kennedy Chambers, Paige Chambers, Lillian Clapp, Thea Cui, Isabella Deaner, Thomas Lane Estes, Evan Jones, Sarah Khan, Alex Lebiednik, Crawford McDougal, Sophia Morse, Yahan Su, Grace Suh, Alex Thompson, Ivy Ward and JR Weber.
In addition, four students - Lillian Clapp, Thea Cui, Alex Lebiednik and Alex Thompson - were also named as National Merit Commended Scholars. Their PSAT/NMSQT score placed them among the top 3 percent of the highest scorers in the nation.
Finally, Yahan Su has been named a National Merit Semi-Finalist. To become a Semi-Finalist, your PSAT/NMSQT score needs to be among the top 1 percent of the nation’s highest scorers. Later this fall, a smaller number of these students will be named National Merit Finalists, and then an even smaller number of Finalists will be announced as National Merit Scholarship recipients later in the school year.
