Augusta Prep hires Magruder as Director of Development
Augusta Prep welcomes Lillian Magruder as its new Director of Development for the 2025-2026 school year.
Mrs. Magruder replaces Dr. Kristin Ludwig, who served as Director of Development the past two years. Mrs. Magruder will start at Augusta Prep on September 15.
A longtime member of the Augusta Prep community, Mrs. Magruder has extensive experience in the financial world, working for two decades in pharmaceutical sales. She is currently the owner and operator of Richards Furrier and Finishings in downtown Augusta.
Mrs. Magruder is also an active member of the Augusta Prep community, serving on the Board of Trustees’ Development Committee. She is married to Prep alum Andrew ('86) and has two children who are Prep alums (Marshall, ‘20; Ruthie, ‘22) and has another son in high school. In 2016, she began a four-year role as football program lead parent coordinator and team treasurer.
Mrs. Magruder graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology before earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. She began her pharmaceutical sales career for Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories in 1999, continuing in the field until 2019. In 2012-13, she was recognized for her top sales performance with Vice Presidents Club honors. In 2020, she began ownership of Richards Furrier and Finishings, which has had year-over-year growth of 70 percent.
Mrs. Magruder has also been an active community member since 1999, serving with the Junior League of Augusta, Historic Augusta Board of Trustees and Augusta Symphony Guild.
“Lillian knows the Augusta Prep community, and we are excited for her leadership in this role," Head of School Eric Hedinger said. "She embodies the Prep spirit in being a Prep parent, serving as a volunteer for the Prep community over the years, and even serving on the Prep Board of Trustees. Her care for the community will be transformative for the future success of the School."
Mrs. Magruder said she’s looking forward to joining Augusta Prep in a full-time capacity.
“I am honored and excited to join Augusta Prep as the Director of Development," she said. "This school has been such an important part of my family’s life for many years, and it is a privilege to help carry its mission forward. I look forward to working with our faculty, families, alumni, and the wider community to strengthen connections and ensure a thriving future for generations of Cavaliers."
